Founder’s Story


Chef Melissa Hura is passionate about two things:

  1. Creating and sharing scrumptious, wholesome food, individually customized to each client.

  2. Giving top culinary talent a flexible alternative to the traditional restaurant kitchen career path.

Chef Melissa brings 20 plus years of business and restaurant experience to create a successful, growing personal chef and intimate catering company.



The 5th Avenue Fresh team is comprised of professional chefs and culinarians who are creative and client-focused. Our team members respect each other, our clients and our company values.


Although each team member has their own creative style, we all march to the beat of the same drummer working from a whole-food, made-from-scratch approach, preparing dishes customized specifically to suit the client.

Our Kitchen


All of the food by 5th Avenue Fresh is prepared in a commercially licensed, food safe, health inspected, commercial kitchen leased from ECDI/The Food Fort. In some cases food may be prepared in your personal kitchen or on-site at an event.

ServSafe Certified/Liability Insurance


Our personal chefs are ServSafe® Certified and our personal chef assistants have a minimum of Level 1 ServSafe food safety training – the same that is required in restaurants.

5th Avenue Fresh carries full liability insurance for on and off-site venues.
